1 Created by Elizabeth de la Rosa July 2, 2011 A Feast of Fairy Tales

2 Created by Elizabeth de la Rosa July 2, 2011 For months and months the entire kingdom has been preparing for the first ever Feast of Fairytales. Each and every citizen has been invited to attend and to bring their most favorite food to share with the other guests. Cinderella will be making her famous pumpkin pie. Snow White has decided to bring a great big jug of apple cider. Goldilocks got together with the three bears and they are providing sopapillas drizzled in lot’s and lot’s of honey. Belle has decided to bring homemade baguettes and Ariel will be sharing her world-renowned crab puffs (made from artificial crab meat of course)! Some of the guests are still undecided about what their contribution should be. The feast is soon and they need your help. FAST!

3 Created by Elizabeth de la Rosa July 2, 2011 There are five fairy tales that need your help: The Crab and the Monkey, The Country Mouse and the City Mouse, The Brave Little Tailor, The Crow and the Pitcher, and Peter and the Wolf. Once your teacher has assigned your group a fairy tale your first task is to read it very carefully. Pay special attention to any hints you might find about the country of origin. Sometimes the author might leave you clues by describing what the characters are wearing or eating. Clues might even be found in the setting when the author describes what the land looks like or a festival might be mentioned. Once you have figured out the country, your group will work together to find out as much information about it as you can. This information will be very helpful in helping to choose a recipe.
