Alternate Forms of Energy Amber Ozuna Class: 808

What are renewable and non-renewable resources? Renewable energy sources can be used again and again such as solar energy, wind energy, and water energy. Non-renewable energy sources are energy sources that cannot be used continuously such as oil, coal, and gas.

How do non-renewable resources (fossil fuels) affect the environment? The way it affects the environment is that the fuel we have takes years to make and the pollution goes into the air which isn't healthy to breathe or be around yet we are forced to be around these dangerous conditions everyday.

Why is there a push for using alternative forms of energy? It is because the danger that global warming is doing to Global warming is causing the polar ice caps to melt. Water level have risen by 1.8 millimeters for over a century. Some habitats have been melting such as polar bear habitats up in the north and south poles. Most animals can't cope with the new living conditions.

What are the benefits of using alternative forms of energy? The benefit for everyone is a clean healthy place to live with no more ice caps that melt and the fact that the energy is clean and efficient and beneficial energy for everyone. Such as most people won't have to deal with affects that the fuels contain in them like cancerous cells can be in some fossil fuels.

What are the limits of using alternative forms of energy? The cost of alternative forms of energy are depending on the amount of wattage. Depending on where the sources are placed they can't be placed anywhere like hydro power.

What is Barrack Obama's plan for using alternative forms energy? It is to have 5 million jobs to increase the usage of environment friendly energy. To have more efficiency of energy for the United States. To invest 150 billion dollars worth of clean energy. To ensure 10% of electricity comes from renewable sources.
