2 It’s never too early to start planning for college. There are many things you should start to do now in order to get ready. There are lots of things to think about that will help you decide which college and major are the best fit for you.

3 9/23/2015 Do you know what classes you need to have taken in high school in order to apply to a MA state college? High School Diploma Requirements: 4 units of English 3 units of Mathematics (Algebra I, II, Geometry or other advanced course) 3 units of Science with 2 lab units 2 units of History or Social Studies 2 units of the same Foreign Language 2 college preparatory electives

4 9/23/2015 Colleges offer a lot of opportunities to get involved as does your current school! Colleges look for various after school & extra curricular activities that help make you a well-rounded student! If you are not involved in middle school or high school, talk to your friends and join a club together! What are you involved in NOW that you’d like to continue in college?

7 Do you see yourself staying close to home after high school or moving away? At a state college like Bridgewater, you are charged in-state tuition if you are from Massachusetts. If you go to a state college outside of Massachusetts, you will be charged out-of-state tuition. Private universities have a set tuition no matter the location in comparison to where you live.

8 9/23/2015 85% of applicants request housing 63% of the freshmen class is awarded housing Housing is awarded based on: -Meeting application deadline -Quality of application (GPA, SAT/ACT Scores, Extracurricular activities) - At Bridgewater, housing is NOT based on how close (or far) a student lives from campus

9 9/23/2015 7,145 full-time undergraduates (12+ credits…4 or more classes a semester) 1,352 part-time undergraduates 1,772 graduate students 10,269 total enrolled students 306 full time faculty members

10 9/23/2015 Start to think about the major and/or minor you want to study when you go to college What do you want to do after college?? Picking colleges will be easier if you have a major in mind You may decide some colleges are not for you based on their selection of majors and minors IT’S OK IF YOU DON’T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT TO MAJOR IN!
