1 Acts 2: the Holy Spirit Pentecost (means 50th): refers to the Jewish feast of harvest held 50 days after the Passover. God timed the appearance of the Holy Spirit - and thus the start of the church - to coincide with the Harvest Feast. The Apostles experienced the initial Power of the Spirit on this day.
