2 What are online services?
A business that provides a variety of different types of data. Online services provide an infrastructure in which subscribers can communicate with one another, either by exchanging messages or by participating in online conferences.

3 ENTERTAINMENT The purpose of an entertainment service is to entertain the users. This includes watching movies over the internet to gaming. BBC iplayer is an example of entertainment and to catch up on TV. The benefits of this is that you can watch TV programs you have missed on TV over the past 30 days. X-box Live is an example of gaming, this entertains us as you can play online against people/friends anywhere in the country. Itunes is listed under entertainment because it’s a site where you can download any music you want and can turn it into your own genius and listen to them anywhere.

4 COMMUNICATION This is an online service where you can get in touch with other people via the internet. Social networking, instant messaging, video calls and is an example. Facebook is a social networking example where you can contact anyone from all over the world, however internet is needed to do this. A massive advantage if Facebook is that it is free so roams worldwide with now 500 million users. Skype is a communication method using video call. Skype is free but needs internet to use it, you can video call friends all over the globe and have conversations over video. Imessage is an instant messaging service where you can talk to people or send pictures on any apple device. This also connects to facetime and is completely free. All you need to do to connect to this is add your and there you go, just the same as texting but free.

Virtual learning is a term frequently used interchangeably with distance learning, online learning, e-learning, or Web-based learning. My maths is a platform for online maths homework which teachers set for students involved in maths. This improves students work in maths and helps you learn easier. For the older students my maths is setto revise from before a test. Moodle is a free software e-learning platform, also known as a Learning Management System, or Virtual Learning Environment. As of June 2013 it had a user base of 83,008 registered and verified sites, serving 70,696,570 users in 7.5+ million courses with 1.2+ million teachers.

6 BUSINESS Business is an online service platform to sell things over their online website normally owning a shop to. Business online is easier then going out to the shop and buying it and you just can order it online and it being delivered to your house. Natwest is a banking business online where you can register and manage your alerts online. Banking online is good as you can keep up to date with your personal current and savings accounts, day and night. New look is a business website in the retail industry. Here you can buy clothes and have then delivered to your house only a few days after for a little extra charge. This helps the shop as it wont be as busy if people buy online instead of in the shop. Fast food takeaways are a successful business service. You can just simple order things online and have them delivered right to your door step under an hour later. Mama Mia’s is an example off this.

7 DOWNLOAD SERVICES An extended download is platform where you can download music, stream films ect. This is a platform that you are most likely to pay, however is completely worth it. When you stream a file, you will get to listen to or watch it, but won't have the file on your computer to do things with later. Some websites offer streaming as a way to make their content available, but not let people have it without buying it. Itunes is a website for apple which you can buy and download songs for free and play them anywhere without the uses of internet. Although itunes charge for different songs, you can download any song you can think of.

8 commerce This is the buying and selling of goods, especially on a large scale, as between cities or nations. This is where you supply businesses with application tools designed to help them sell their services and products online. They provide Web platforms that allow their customers to sell products or services. Ebay is an online auction website where you can sell and purchase anything. The good thing about ebay is that practically anything is sold, however it’s a little complicated to set up right now has over 300 million users. B & Q is a shopping platform where you buy things and also can be a member of online. However a disadvantage is that you have to pay extra for your item to be delivered for postage and packaging.

9 EDUCATION This is a learning platform where you can you visit sites to revise on before tests and gives you a wide range of subjects to choose from. GCSE bitesize is a website for online revision, here you can go on any subject and revise and test yourself on the subjects your unsure on and learn until your more confident. This is a really useful website as it saves you going to ask your teacher for help and checking online at home instead. However bitesize might not show all the things you need to learn, but certainly shows most of it. It is also free to use.

10 REAL TIME INFORMATION Real time information are websites and apps that show you the up date weather and news. All apple devices come with a weather forecast for the present days. This s really useful because you can decide what activities you can do that day and decide what clothes to wear. This is free so is used globally and is a massive plus when wondering what the weather is. Sky News provides 24/7 updates on what is happening in the world in detail. Here you can see all the latest discussions and really important things, sometimes essential to know.

11 GOVERNMENT These are things you can do online when you own your own your own business and it’s a way to work out how much tax you owe. This website works out exactly how much money you need to give so you don’t have to work it out yourself. Across the world people have died fighting for the right to vote and be part of a democracy, and now we are able to. We can now vote online which influences our government and choses who is to rule. You have to do all the aplications online to buy a new house grant planning permission ect. This is essential as you wouldn’t be able to do get the things that are essential in everyday live. It is also miles easier then writing it and is much quicker.
