7 Characteristics Dispatch: Reach the vehicles to add stops, change routes, etc. Sessions: More “stops and starts” transmissions Data Transport: Cellular data services serve well Regional Fleets DOT Regulations: Tire pressure, driver logs, vehicle/driver history, etc. Time-sensitive: Send morning dispatch/logs on time Coverage: Cellular works very well, but check coverage holes National Fleets Asset: Track vehicle and individuals, rarely other contents Event-based: Crash, theft, route downloads, engine start/stop, etc. Network: Sometimes requires satellite or cellular/satellite hybrid devices Other Fleets
