5. Summary of the Sections Section 1 – Siddhartha starts his journey with Govinda. They first start with the Samanas. With the Samanas Siddhartha learned many thing but he still didn’t feel that he was happy. Govinda asked Siddhartha if they could go to see The Illustrious One (Buddha). They went to go see The Illustrious One and Siddhartha talked to him. From there Siddhartha went on his own journey by himself because Govinda stayed with The Illustrious One on his own path. Section 2 – Siddhartha goes to a city and meets Kamala. He would like her to be his teacher in a physical relationship. She agrees but makes him get a job to pay her. After 20 years of being with Kamala and working, he decides to leave because he was disgusted with what he has become. He leaves and goes to the woods where he finds a river. At the river he feels “Om” wash through him. After that Siddhartha meet the Ferryman, Vasudeva. Vasudeva helps him find enlightenment from the river and leaves Siddhartha with the Ferryman job, after Siddhartha gets to Nirvana(enlightenment).
