2 Career Pathways There are four career pathways. One is Programming and Software Development. The second one is Network Systems. The third is Interactive Media. The Fourth is Information Support and Servies.

3 The Careers I Chose Programmer Analyst. Web Designer. Webmaster. Software Engineer. Business Analyst.

4 Programmer Analyst Requirements In the Programming and Software Development career pathway. Requires Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science/Master of Arts/Master of Science Requires technical skills such as strong problem solving skills. Requires excellent verbal skills. Requires ability to start full-time work in NYC. Requires two programming classes or equivalent experience

5 Becoming a Programmer Analyst Can find a job at Genesis10. Can enroll to Le Moyne College. Entry income is from $60,000-$70,000. Median income is from $70,000-$85,000. High income is from $85,000-$105,000.

6 Web Designer Requirements In the Interactive Media career pathway. Requires strong user interface design skills, including typography, layout and color and expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, Web standards, and knowledge of JavaScript. Requires excellent written skills. Requires excellent verbal skills. Needs to be able to be able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment, where change is the norm not the exception and experience in working on multiple projects simultaneously.

7 Becoming a Web Designer Can find a job at Technisource. Can enroll at Delaware Technical and Community College Entry income is from $20,000-$30,000. Median income is from $30,000-$45,000. High income is from $45,000-$60,000.

8 Webmaster Requirements In the Interactive Media career pathway. Requires 5-7 years of experience developing with web-based technologies, building websites from scratch, and enhancing existing websites. Requires development experience with PHP, HTML, CSS, Fireworks, Illustrator, and/or Photoshop. Requires experience editing video in Final Cut Pro or similar program and ability to establish priorities and handle multiple tasks with strict time constraints. Requires the ability to communicate effectively at all levels with superior written and verbal communication. Requires creative and motivated team player.

9 Becoming a Webmaster Can find a job at AT&T. Can enroll at Bakersfield College. Entry income is from $30,000-$40,000. Median income is from $40,000-$50,000. High income is from $50,000-$60,000.

10 Software Engineer Requirements In the Programming and Software Development career pathway. Requires Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science/Master of Arts/Master of Science Requires a very strong coding and problem solving skills. Requires creative abilities in improving and developing the products they sell to their clients. Requires at least two years of professional experience. Requires excellent verbal skills.

11 Becoming a Software Engineer Can find a job at MRINetwork. Can enroll at the College of Software Engineering. Entry income is from $70,000-$80,000. Median income is from $80,000-$90,000. High income is from $90,000-100,000.

12 Business Analyst Requirements In the Programming and Software Development career pathway. Requires professionals with two to four years of the following experience will be considered. Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to work with non-technical business users and technical leads to define the requirements. Requires the ability to communicate effectively at all levels with superior written and verbal communication. Requires creative abilities in improving and developing the products they sell to their clients. Requires a experience with Rational/RUP products.

13 Becoming a Business Analyst Can find a job at Object Builders. Can enroll at Culverhouse College. Entry income is from $50,000-$55,000. Median income is from $55,000-$65,000. High income is from $65,000-$75,000.
