5 The Straits Times, 10 Jun 2010 “A Very Special Child” “ They may not easily integrate into mainstream schools and require constant attention from a caregiver in performing daily activities. An early intenvention programme will help them develop to their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.”

6 “After volunteering for a few days, I discovered that this is what I’ve always waned to do. Seeing how a simple touch can make a whole world of difference to a boy or girl is so emotionally fulfilling.”

7 “People with autism have communication difficulties and poor social skills. Some do not like physical touches. So I was particularly moved when one day he made eye contact with me, held my hand, ask a question and started having a conversation”

8 Temple Grandin “I can remember the frustration of not being able to talk. I knew what I wanted to say, but I could not get the words out, so I would just scream.” “A treatment method or an educational method that will work for one child may not work for another child. The one common denominator for all of the young children is that early intervention does work, and it seems to improve the prognosis.” "I am different, not less." Best selling author on autism-related issues
