Project Timeline and Guideline Day 1 – research and gather information. You MUST site your sources! Searching and reading Day 2 – Finish collecting information, using your checklist for items needed (quotes, pictures, documents, links, video clips, etc…) Making decisions and summarizing key points Day 3 - Start adding desired information and creating project in chosen program (PowerPoint, Glogster, Prezi, etc…) Create and organize info. Day 4- (if needed) Finish project and polish up presentation Finalize, edit, polish it

Begin the Power of One project 1. Get out your checklist with the assigned name/topic. 2. Open all documents in OneDrive. 3. Open a word document and title it “Bibliography”. 4. Begin researching using Creative Commons search for images and information. 5. Use Easybib to document your sources as you go. ELACC8W2: I will write informative texts to examine a topic and covey ideas, concepts, and information through the selection, organization, and analysis of relevant content. ELACC8W4: I will produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience. ELACCW8W8: I will gather relevant information from multiple print and digital sources, using search terms effectively; assess the credibility and accuracy of each source; and quote or paraphrase the data and conclusions of others while avoiding plagiarism and following a standard format for citation.

Reminders on using information Do not plagiarize. Always site your sources. These can be saved into a word document and attached to your site in the text or in the Moviemaker video you create. **It is wise to create this list (copy and paste the url of sites used) as you go.

Project Reminders Before asking Mrs. White for help, read the directions and try to problem-solve for yourself. After that, I am more than glad to assist you. Stay in your assigned seat. There is no reason to be up and moving around during our project work days. Each project day you will get a daily grade. Everyone starts out with 100! Points lost for being off task. Behavior points lost for being on game sites or using BYLD inappropriately. Power of One project Get out your Checklist and open documents. Work quietly on your project. You have today and tomorrow to complete it. Each project day you will get a daily grade. Today in Reading Glogster projects day 2: Volunteers Needed! - I need 1 or 2 to help hand out and put up computers for each class period. Go to http://edu.glogster.com/ Log in Find your GLOG at the bottom of your “dashboard”. Today’s goal: Collect information/pictures/images to use in your Glog on a word document with the url of each site. Create a video of your Rescuer using MovieMaker

To do list for today: Work on Glogster project! http://edu.glogster.com/ Make sure you are creating a bibliography of sources for pictures and information. If you think you are done, grade yourself according to the checklist, THEN have me preview it. Add video (Movie Maker is great!) Add music or sound clips that are appropriate and relate to your Rescuer or book topic. If you finish, ask Mrs. New or Mrs. Brown to check it. If you are truly finished, you may go to the library or read quietly. Your third RC book is due my March 8 th ! Due Wednesday! To do list for today: Work on Power of One project! Many of you may finish your project today. 1. PowerPoint – 1. Save slides as JPEG files. 2. Open MovieMaker and add music, effects, etc. I can help you! 2. If you finish, grade yourself using your rubric. 3. Have me or Mrs. Brown check it. 4. Turn in your rubric. 5. Post your finished project on our PADLET page. (Open document “Power of One project link” to access Padlet). If you are truly finished, you may.. Take an RC test, complete any missing work, complete a USATestprep assignment, or read quietly. Your third RC book is due today! Due Wednesday! Project presentations Present your projects ELACC8SL4: I will present claims and findings, emphasizing salient points in a focused, coherent manner with relevant evidence, sound valid reasoning, and well-chosen details. I will use appropriate eye contact, adequate volume, and clear pronunciation.
