Any student who meets the graduation requirements for high school graduation is automatically eligible for entrance into a 2-year or community college. *The ACT test is the only additional requirement for admission. Mississippi Community College Admissions

In order to be classified as a Senior, you must have: * completed English I, II and III * completed 3 maths * completed 13 additional units for a minimum of 18 units total I want to be a SENIOR!

Please do not rely on Summer School to become a Senior! Did you know that you must have at least a 55 in the class you fail in order to even attend Summer School? Anything lower, Summer School is not even an option! IMPORTANT!

English recommendations Regular English III now = Regular English IV or Early College next year Accelerated English III now = Accelerated English IV, Early College, or AP English IV (depending on your teacher’s recommendation) AP English III now = you are highly encouraged to consider only AP English IV (pending teacher rec)

Early College Early College is college classes taken on the campus of GHS Please refer to the handout and take note of eligibility requirements for each class Please do NOT sign up for Early College classes unless you currently have the appropriate ACT score

Algebra II recommendations If you are in Algebra II now with a 74 or lower average and a 17 or lower on the ACT math, we recommend SREB math next year. If your average is above 75, we recommend Algebra III or Early College (as long as you currently have a 20 on the ACT math)

History Every Senior must take:.5 Government.5 Economics **Those students who meet AP requirements might consider AP Macro Econ or AP Government instead** * (AP Requirements: Grade of an A in your current Social Studies course and your current Social Studies teacher must sign your choice sheet.)

Science Required: Biology 1 Physical Science (Chemistry, Physics, or Physical Science) 2 other lab based sciences

Science Recommendations The GHS Science Department recommends a B or better in Biology and Algebra I to be successful in Chemistry. B average or better is recommended in Biology, Algebra II and Chemistry if you are considering Physics Starting in 2014, AP Physics will be a 2 year course. If you are in general Physics I now, AP Physics II is recommended for next year.
