Nixon travelled to China and signed agreements:travelled to China a. peaceful cooperation to settle disputes b. scientific and cultural exchanges. c. eventual re-unification of China and Taiwan.mapmap 4. Nixon was trying to drive a wedge between China and the Soviet Union.

7 III. Watergate brought his resignation. A. Began with a burglary at the Democratic National Headquarters in June 1972. B. The investigation eventually exposed Nixon’s knowledge and cover-up of the break-in. C. Facing impeachment, Nixon resigned in August, 1974. D. Gerald Ford became president and pardoned Nixon for any crimes he might have committed.
