25 Fujifilm Sustainability Activities
Green Policy In April 2002, the Fujifilm Group established its Fujifilm Group Green Policy containing medium-term environmental policies. The objective of the policy is to attain a high level of “environmental quality” in our products, services, and corporate activities throughout the Group. 18

26 Fujifilm Sustainability Activities
Green Product Innovation Many Fujifilm products are manufactured in accordance with the ISO standard for Environmental Management Systems. Fujifilm’s Frontier Digital Dry Labs produce zero chemical effluent, as compared to chemical based silver halide labs, and use less than 50% of the energy of original lab models. The Fujifilm J Press for North America achieved levels of deinking previously unseen with inkjet print, during deinking trials carried out by the International Association of the Deinking Industry (INGEDE). 19

27 Fujifilm Corporate Sustainability Commitment
Energy Consumption In fiscal 2012, Fujifilm’s facilities in North America reduced their greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 24% compared to the 2006 baseline. In 2011 and 2012, Fujifilm installed solar panel systems on its Hawaii branch office and manufacturing facility in North Kansas City, Mo., producing more than 500,000 kWh annually. Since 2009, Fujifilm uses methane from a local landfill in Greenwood, S.C to help power its boilers, destroying 37,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalents and further reducing CO2 emissions by 4,400 metric tons. 20
