VOLUME Volume is a measure of the space within a solid figure, like ball, a cube, cylinder or pyramid. Its units are at all times cubic. The formula of volume is: Area = l x w x h Where: l = length w = width h = height 1
2
SURFACE AREA Surface Area is the total area of the surface with 3- dimensions Example: the surface area of a cube is the area of all 6 faces. The formula is 6 × (Edge Length) 2 2
3
CUBE A solid with 6 similar square faces Also called a regular hexahedron Formula: Cube=side 3 3
4
RECTANGULAR PRISM A solid 3-dimensional object which has 6faces that are rectangles. It has identical cross-section along a length, which makes it a prism. Formula: side1 × side2 × side3 4
5
PYRAMID A solid object where: The base is a polygon (a straight-sided flat shape) Its sides are triangles which meet at the apex (Top). It is a polyhedron. Formula: (1/3) × (base area) × height 5
6
SPHERE A three-dimensional object shaped like a ball. Each point on the surface has the same distance from the center. Formula: (4/3) × pi × radius 3 6
7
TRIANGULAR PRISM A prism with the cross-section of a triangle Formula: V=1/2 A*c*h 7
