3. What you need to know! o Work Experience is a one-week experience at the end of Term Two o Dates are Monday 25th June to Friday 29 th June. o You will be provided with instruction in Occupational Health & Safety prior to your work experience

4. What you need to do! o Attend presentation on 16th March o Receive your Work Experience Arrangement Form from your Homeroom Teacher o Attend individual appointment with careers staff o Approach possible employers and ask if they will employ you for one week (25 th June – 29 th June 2012) by phone or email – look on SIMON for tips and templates in helping with this.

5. More to do!  Complete the Work Experience Arrangement Form, including all the necessary signatures (your employer, yourself and your parents)  Return the original Arrangement Form to your Homeroom Teacher by 17 th April (1 st day back Term 2)

6. Still more! o Prepare yourself by finding out as much as you can about the work you will undertake o Do this by contacting the employer 2 weeks before work experience to find out: o Dress code o Lunch requirements o Hours of work o Safety requirements

7. During and after Work Experience o Keep notes on your observations and experiences – through your Work Experience Journal. o Understand that your employer will be asked to evaluate your work o A Thomas Carr teacher will visit you and your employer o Your participation will be noted in your Homeroom Teacher’s Report

8. But most of all… o Learn as much as you can o ENJOY the experience
