The application process Fill out to apply for a job Contains: Name, Address, Education, Prior job experience, references, ect Businesses must have an application on file for each employee If application is selected, you will go through an interview process. New employee orientation Once offered the job, new employee jobs through training. Examples include: watching informational movies, job shadowing, training courses, walk-throughs, ect 8

Compensation methods Time Wage Straight Salary Commission (an incentive system) Piece Rate (an incentive system) Employee benefits Examples: Healthcare, Dental Insurance, Babysitting facilities, Disability Insurance, Vacation, Illness days. If company offers benefits, wage or salary is lower than those who don’t take benefits. 8

19 PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
Employee evaluation The evaluation process- focuses on job duties The evaluation conference- discuss any improvements of the company. Promotions, transfers, and terminations Promotions -to place good employees in higher positions Transfers -to move employees to different sections in a company that has the same responsibilities. Termination is firing a employee or laying off employees 8
