1 Tips for PowerPoint Gather all information first. Plan how you’ll organize and what you need. I recommend creating a rough draft on paper. Set up all slides with information/text first. Use minimum 32-point font. Use bulleted statements that hit key points, not paragraphs. Use no more than 8 lines of text per slide.

2 Tips for PowerPoint cont. Once text for all slides is set up, use the rest of your time to look for pictures, designs, backgrounds, animations, and transitions. Use index cards or notes to help you fill in added information not on the slide. Practice your presentation! You may cite pictures used with URL pasted under picture.

3 Basics for PowerPoint New slides. Layouts. Bringing things forward or back on slide. Inserting pictures, clip art, and text boxes. Choosing a background design or style. Transitions between slides. Animations—how words/statements appear on slide. Practice slideshow.
