Guideline: EURESCOM Powerpoint templates3 Introduction  The new templates have two functions: è Give the presenter an easy to use basis for creating excellent presentations. è Strengthen the image of EURESCOM through the use of corporate design elements like logo, colour and fonts.  The following guidelines help the presenter to apply his individual style without violating the corporate design. 4 Guideline: EURESCOM Powerpoint templates4 The templates  3 templates available è Grey white gradient background è White background è Deep blue background It is recommended to use the deep blue template only, if a dark background is required by the organiser. Importing slides from other presentations and printing handouts might cause problems. Back to table of contents

Guideline: EURESCOM Powerpoint templates5 Slide styles  You can choose between various slide styles. In general, every slide should have a heading.  You can add a new slide via ‘Insert/ New Slide’ or via shortcut ‘CTRL + M’. Back to table of contents

Guideline: EURESCOM Powerpoint templates6 The ‘Master’ style  Please do not alter any of the settings in the Master!  There are four Master styles: è For the title slide è For all other slides è For handouts è For notes Back to table of contents

Guideline: EURESCOM Powerpoint templates7 Fonts  The only font allowed for presentations is Arial, including Arial Rounded MT Bold for the title.  In general, the given font colour for the grey- white and white template is black, for the deep blue template white.  Exception: Text with coloured background and links can be different, but should by all means be readable and pleasant for the eye. Back to table of contents

Guideline: EURESCOM Powerpoint templates8 Font size  The maximum font size of 40 should only be applied to the presentation title and the slide headers.  The font size for bulleted text should never be higher than 32 and below 24.  The smallest acceptable font size is 16, only to be applied to legends / graphics. Back to table of contents

Guideline: EURESCOM Powerpoint templates9 Bullets  Only use the two given bullet styles. è You can shift between the bullet styles by using the green arrows in the menu.  Don’t use more than seven bullets on one slide.  Keep the text short. Back to table of contents

Guideline: EURESCOM Powerpoint templates10 Slide transition and animation  You are free to use all available slide transitions and animations.  However, we would recommend to make only moderate use of these effects, because too many might distract from the contents you are presenting. Back to table of contents

Guideline: EURESCOM Powerpoint templates11 Insert images and other objects  You can insert images and movies via ‘Insert’ in the menu.  Preferably insert pictures that are downsized to 72 pixels per inch and use a data-reduced file format like jpg or gif.  It is recommended not to use sound. If you think it is necessary to do so, make sure there is a sufficient sound system. Back to table of contents

Guideline: EURESCOM Powerpoint templates12 The use of speaker notes  You have the option to write notes that you can print out for giving your presentation (‘View / Speaker Notes’).  Notes can help avoid a common mistake: Some speakers only read the text on their slides, which is boring.  Notes can also be used for handouts. Back to table of contents

Guideline: EURESCOM Powerpoint templates13 Produce handouts  For printing handouts go to ‘File / Print’ (shortcut ‘CTRL + P’) and select under ‘Print what’ the type of handout.  We recommend to use the option ‘Handouts (2 slides per page)’, or - if you have notes for most of the slides - use the option ‘Notes Pages’. Edit header and footer at ‘View / Notes Page’. Back to table of contents

Guideline: EURESCOM Powerpoint templates14 Feedback If you encounter difficulties in using the EURESCOM Powerpoint template, or if you have suggestions, please send an e- mail to: Milon Gupta, PR Officer, EURESCOM gupta@eurescom.de Back to table of contents
