A Red-Eyed Tree Frogs Life By Irina Kolarova

Introduction Hello, my big red eyes are so unique they keep you wondering. Here is my book. I have always wanted to make one and now I am. Through this pages you will discover more about my life and how I survive in my natural habitat. I can grow up to 2.75, but I am still 1.5. Most colorful frogs are poisonous but I’m not. I’m mostly green with blue sides with yellow dots and orange feet.

Physical Appearance What a warm dark night in the Costa Rica rainforest. Some people thing I’m very slimy because I look slimy but sometimes what it looks like isn’t what it is. My name is Rosy. I am named for my big red eyes.

Habitat I live in trees. I live near ponds. Can you guess where I live? in the Costa Rica rainforest! Yes! you guessed! I almost never come down from the trees.

Birth & Babies Now I see a blue male trying to attract me. I don’t see why but I like him. Now we are getting ready to go up a leaf hanging over the water. I put him on my back and we went up the leaf. I laid about 5 eggs if my calculations are right. In three days the eggs will hatch and little tadpoles will come out. In three months their developing will be done and they will be little- wait can you guess? Froglets! After three more days they will be frogs.

Food & Hunting I am very hungry and ready for I crunchy snack. I close my eyes and wait for the fly to come to me I see a fly I’m ready and… crunch! Yum yum yum! I eat insects, slugs, snails, and worms. Because the rainforest is so moist there are literally thousands of yummy insect snacks for me to crunch.

Survival & Adaptations Oh, oh! I see a snake looking for prey. I close my eyes and wait for the snake to get really close and then I surprise him with my big red eyes. He startles and I have a lot of time to get to safety.

Conclusion Hope you got enough facts about me. I rarely tell about my life. Some ways you can help is not to cut down trees, no traps for me please and... I forgot the rest. What a busy day! Time to hibernate! See you in spring! Or shall I say good night! Zzz oh! By the way I might freeze to death and turn into an ice cube. My… zzz sorry! My heart will stop pounding but in spring I will be fine.
