7 Academics/Behavior As a member of our Wolves Athletic program, you are held to a higher standard. Student-athletes will: Not receive referrals or detentions. Pass ALL classes. (Failing will cause the student to be ineligible to play-per UIL rules and regulations.) Work to do their best in all classes. Act as ladies & gentlemen in and out of class and act in a respectful manner to all teachers. Failing grades, low conduct marks, and referrals/d-halls will be addressed with extra conditioning and extra tutorials.

8 Dress Code - Basketball
Practice Attire: Black shorts, practice jersey, and athletic shoes – preferably basketball shoes. (NO jewelry can be worn. Please keep all items in your locker) Game Attire: CTMS uniform (jersey, shorts, and warm-ups) and athletic shoes. Game Day Attire: On game days athletes will be required to wear team shirts and jeans throughout the school day. Basketball shirts will be ordered after teams have been chosen and will cost $15.

9 Dress Code – Cross Country
Practice Attire: Based on weather, students should be dressed out in black CTMS shorts and grey CTMS shirt. If it is cold, students may want to wear running tights or a long sleeved performance shirt under their grey shirt. Students may also wear sweats. A good rule of thumb is to dress for 10° higher than the actual temperature because body temperature will rise during work out. Students should also invest in a watch with a stopwatch feature and a small composition book or spiral for practice. We encourage students to keep their own time and record all runs to chart improvement and set goals. Meet Attire: Issued CTMS uniform and black running tights or performance shirt. Wear CC t-shirt or sweats over uniform before the meet. Meet Day Attire: Jeans and CC shirt. CC shirts will be $15.

10 Sportsmanship & Attitude
Treat your teammates and coaches like you want them to treat you- with respect, dignity, and tolerance. The team comes ahead of any person on the team. Do your best to help your teammates play better. We expect you to display good sportsmanship at all times. Bring a positive attitude to every practice and game, regardless of whether the team is winning or losing games. We expect players and parents to provide unconditional enthusiasm throughout the season. Do your best every time you walk on the court. Your teammates and coaches are counting on you.

11 Absences When you play a team sport, you’re committed to attend every practice and game. When you’re absent, you miss a chance to improve and help the team. If you miss a practice for any reason, your playing time will be decreased. We understand that emergencies may arise, but everyone will be held to this standard.

12 Transportation - Basketball
GCISD will provide transportation to and from all athletic events. All players are expected to ride the bus to and from each game. It is important that we support each other as a program. Athletes will be able to work on homework in the stands and must remain in the stands or designated area during all games except their own.

13 Transportation – Cross Country
Students will ride the GCISD provided bus to meets, but may ride home with a parent after their race. Students must check out with Coach Leonard or Coach Mooney before leaving the meet. We must know where our athletes are at all times!

14 Athlete/Parent Concerns
The policies that have been provided are important for a successful program. However, the key to a successful program comes from communication between the coaches and parents, the coaches and athletes, and the athletes and parents. We encourage the parents to share in their child’s athletic experience and help make it a positive and rewarding one. We do ask that you follow the proper chain of command if a situation arises that would require the need to speak to a coach. Any concerns or questions by an athlete or parent should be brought to the attention of the proper coach in the following order: Have the athlete talk to the coach. Then # Parent conference with the coach involved. THEN # Parent conference with the campus Athletic Coordinator. THEN # Parent conference with the Asst. Principal in charge of athletics. THEN # Parent conference with the Campus Principal. Those who choose to not follow the above procedure will be directed back by the administration to the level skipped. We know that conflict does arise and it often arises at a game/meet. Please refrain from confronting a coach at the conclusion of a game/meet. We ask that you observe the 24 hour rule. This will allow for all parties to reflect on the situation prior to meeting.

15 Game Day Meal Forms - Basketball
Our Booster club does a wonderful job of finding the best deals for us! Once the teams have been made, we will send home Game Day Meal Forms. The meals usually cost $6/meal ($54/season) and there will be a meal provided before every game. We will need parent volunteers to pick up meals and deliver them to the athletes on game days. All game day meals brought by parents need to be delivered to the front office. For safety reasons, students may not wait by gym doors. Please see Mrs. Marino for any additional questions or concerns. (call or text)

16 CC Pre-meet Snack $10 for the entire season for 1 protein bar, water, and gatorade or powerade for each meet. Please turn the money into Coach Mooney or Coach Leonard and make the checks payable to the CTMS Athletic Booster Club.

17 Volunteers/Concession Stand Workers for basketball
We will need parents to sign up to help with Concession Stand throughout the entire basketball season. The coaching staff will set up a “Sign-Up Genius” online, however, we will need a parent for each sport to help organize this fundraiser. We would not be able to have a Concession Stand if it weren’t for you, so thank you in advance for your help!

18 What if my son/daughter doesn’t make a basketball team?
If your daughter does not make a basketball team, they will have the opportunity to participate in the Cross Country program full time. They will practice every day during the athletic period. This will help with building cardio-vascular and muscle strength in preparation for track season.

19 Celly We will be using Celly to send reminders! Celly will send a text message to your device from the head coach of that grade level and sport.
