1 SAFETY Duty of care - Products have a primary function a user and an intended environment. Designers have a responsibility to ensure the product performs the function safely for that user in that environment. Designers cannot be held responsible for injury from a product that is used for a purpose it was not intended for or when used by the wrong users or in a different environment.
