2 Dehcho First Nations ASETS Dehcho First Nations AHRDA will be transitioning to the new Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ASETS) program The ASETS program is an opportunity to modernize Aboriginal labour market programming

3 Right now Aboriginal organizations across Canada will begin their strategic business planning process, keeping in mind the ASETS strategic priorities: Demand driven skills development Partnership with the private sector and across the whole of government and Accountability for improved results

4 The Strategic Business Plan Is the main driver for focusing on the three strategic priorities of ASETS Helps to determine a logical and systematic response to labour market development challenges facing Aboriginal people in communities across Canada

5 Information packages were provided to Aboriginal organizations in January 2010 outlining the process Service Canada met with Dehcho First Nations and its 11 member organizations on March 15 th & 16 th to assist us as we begin to develop business strategies for our own region

6 If your organization would like to partner with Dehcho First Nations or any of its 11 member organizations, please contact the Aboriginal Training Office to arrange a meeting We appreciate your patience as we transition from AHRDA to ASETS Program updates will be available at a later date
