2 OBJECTIVE OF THE PRESENTATION Provide an overview of the priorities influencing Program Delivery in BC. Provide an update on emerging technologies and program design that will affect program delivery clients.

4 PROGRAM DELIVERY PRIORITIES The Government of Canada’s top priorities are: job creation economic growth long-term prosperity Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) is adapting its policies and programs to ensure that programs continue to meet Canadians' changing needs and support the Government of Canada’s focus on jobs and economic growth.

10 PRIORITIES INTO ACTION OPPORTUNITY FOR TRAINING Through the Economic Action Plan, the Government is transforming the way in which Canadians access the training they need to get jobs in high-demand fields. 11 MODERNIZING GRANTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS Steps continue to be taken toward the modernization of Grants and Contributions programs design, administration and delivery: Standard Application for Funding Standard Contribution Agreement Financial Management and Project Reporting Direct Deposit (DD) Funding Programs Website

12 BENEFITS TO FUNDING APPLICANTS AND RECIPIENTS Standard Application for Funding: Streamlined form allows more consistent project assessment; Ensures applicants provide the details needed for staff to quickly and efficiently complete the assessment process; Standard Grant Agreement: Straightforward agreement ensures consistent and efficient processes for staff and funding recipients; Eliminates the need to interpret multiple agreements between Gs&Cs programs; Simplified clauses and common wording makes the agreement easier for Staff and funding recipients to interpret; and Promotes greater understanding for funding recipients.

13 BENEFITS TO FUNDING APPLICANTS AND RECIPIENTS (cont’d…) Grants and Contributions On-line Services (GCOS): Reduces burdensome application and reporting requirements by offering an online solution, allowing for safe and secure submission of new applications, claims, Forecast of Project Expenditures and activity reports; Eliminates repetitive organizational tombstone information previously required when submitting paper applications, claim, FPEs, and activity reports; Promotes straight-forward data entry via a user-friendly layout; Equipped with the ability to complete, save, view and retrieve information related to applications and active projects at any time.
