 In order to maintain market equity and competitiveness while promoting continuing education, there are caps for the amount you can increase your salary for education credits ◦ For those who do not have Bachelor’s degree, the amount is capped at the amount awarded to someone who does have a BA degree: $2,200 or 27 college/university credits

◦ For those who have a BA degree but don’t have a MA degree, the amount is capped at the amount awarded for an MA degree: $3,000 or 37 credits total ◦ Eligible Kyrene courses are never capped

 Eligibility: ◦ Must be employed for at least 1 year in an eligible position  Eligible positions are “term-certain” positions like Bus Driver, Instructional Assistant, Attendance Clerk  Positions not eligible are “temporary“ positions like Kids Club Leader, Crossing Guard, Lunch Duty

If there is unused budgeted money remaining at the end of the fiscal year, eligible employees may receive up to an additional $1,000 on a 1 st come 1 st serve basis. Tuition Reimbursement Facts:

After you complete a class: You have 30 days from the date completed to submit a completed course reporting form along with an original paid receipt and grade slip or transcript to Human Resource Services Before you take a class: Pre-Approval IS always required and must be submitted by February 15 th in the year prior to taking the class You basically submit all the classes you want to take a full year ahead of time Find forms online on the HR website: Kyrene School District -> Departments-> Human Resource Services-> Education Support Professionals (ESP), then click on Employee Salary Credit/Tuition Reimbursement

 The short answer is yes, you can participate in both education salary credit and tuition reimbursement in the same year  You can not use the same course for both options  For example: you take 6 classes per year. You max out on tuition reimbursement after 2 classes, the next 4 classes can be submitted for salary credit
