9 www.toastmasters.org  Say a friend, colleague or someone you just meet shares with you they resolve to get a new job this year… you can then say…  Well to prepare for your job interviews, our Toastmasters club can help you! Or… New Year, New You, New Members

10 www.toastmasters.org  What type of industry are you thinking of moving to, because joining a Toastmasters Club in that industry can get you connected and give you a leg up…. Or  Building your confidence and helping you to manage change effectively is a tenet of Toastmasters New Year, New You, New Members

11 www.toastmasters.org  What if someone says “I want to lose weight this year?”  Perhaps invite them to a special themed meeting where all the presentations are on ways to lose weight and be healthy? Or… New Year, New You, New Members

12 www.toastmasters.org  Respond with…. “Did you know that when you talk about your goals and share your successes you are more likely to be successful?” How about working through the communication manual at our Toastmasters club to increase your success?  Or…. New Year, New You, New Members

13 www.toastmasters.org  At Toastmasters, we have a high performance leadership project where you can work through any type of goal and we can help you meet your needs….  With this project you also select a team to help guide you! New Year, New You, New Members

14 www.toastmasters.org  Perhaps someone says they want to learn something new and exciting?  Share some of the new and exciting things you’ve learned through your Toastmasters membership… then invite them out. New Year, New You, New Members

15 www.toastmasters.org  Perhaps someone says they want to find someone special in their life or fall in love?  In my case, this is easy since I met my husband Don at Vital Words, I share my story to inspire people to find quality individuals, because when you are in Toastmasters you are improving yourself which makes you a great partner or…. New Year, New You, New Members

16 www.toastmasters.org  Do you know of a club that targets the single crowd, make sure they know about it.  If you don’t have a club targeted in that fashion, is there a singles club you can approach to start a club? New Year, New You, New Members

17 www.toastmasters.org  I resolve to share my Toastmasters successes with 3 new people per month.  I resolve to invite 5 new members  I resolve to Chair a membership campaign for my club  I resolve to promote Toastmasters in a new way each month What is your Toastmasters Resolution?

18 www.toastmasters.org  Being a Distinguished Club - It is not a ribbon on a banner, it is proof that your club mission is alive and that you are ultimately serving your club members  Distinguished Clubs don’t die A great club resolution could be:

19 www.toastmasters.org Reach out to past members and share how as a club you are resolving to make improvements and need their help.  Why did they leave?  Ask them to share with you the strengths of the club so you know what to continue  Ask them to also share some areas for growth so your club can improve We resolve to make our club better!

20 www.toastmasters.org  How did we do?  Did we make the grade?  Would you consider re-joining? Invite them back!

21 www.toastmasters.org New Year, New You, New Members  February comes along… what about hosting a meeting where your club puts together an agenda on how to get back on track with resolutions  What about your club looking at a combined New Year’s Resolution?  What would that look like?

22 www.toastmasters.org  Every Toastmasters club shares the same mission, clearly defined in the following mission statement:  We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. New Year, New You, New Members
