2 The Link Between Affective disorders and Eating Disorders Depression can results in eating disorders (bulimia, anorexia..) Also eating disorders may lead to depression

3 The Link Between Affective disorders and Eating Disorders Depression is part of an eating disorder Person suffered from eating disorders feel as person that is not good enough These patients who developed eating disorders have a lot of emotional trauma Common symptoms of depression: loss of appetite, sleep problems, feeling of sadness …etc.

4 Eating Disorders Prevalence Rates Anorexia nervosa is relatively common among young women The high risk-group of 15-19 year old girls Binge eating disorder is more common among males and older individuals.

5 Affective disorders Prevalence Rates Women are 50% more likely than men to have affective disorders Race: Non-Hispanic blacks are 40%less likely and Hispanic are 20% less likely than non-Hispanic white to experience affective disorders during their life time People suffered from these disorders are mostly at the age between 30 to 44
