2 Principal Parts of Verbs (present, past, past participle, present participle) Tell the principal part verb form for each underlined verb or verb phrase –We read Hatchet last week. –The class writes in their journals daily. –He had worked on his project all weekend. –Mrs. Glovas is making our Christmas dinner this week.

3 Troublesome Verbs Choose the correct verb to complete each sentence. –(Leave Let) me tell you the rules. –Mrs. Heavilon (taught learned) us correct paragraph format. –Mom told me to (lay lie) the book on the table. –My cat likes to (lay lie) in the sun.

4 Transitive, Intransitive, and Linking Verbs Tell whether the underlined verb or verb phrase is transitive or intransitive –Bob enjoyed the cookies with his lunch. –Mary works hard in school. –He went to school today. –Mrs. Heavilon gave the test on Monday. –The dog ate the bone quickly. –The cookies look yummy. –The Christmas tree is pretty.
