A Christmas Tale by YOU This will be the format assessment of in on at make and do A story using in on at make and do

2 Part 1: You will create a story that uses in, on, at, make and do on each page of the story. It needs to have some element of Christmas in the story – real or imaginary – but has to make sense! It needs 8 pages minimum total. It could involve reindeer elves Santa Claus elf chimney sleigh the North Pole presents adventure sadness happiness travel snowmen anything that you think is a part of Christmas It can be anywhere and involve any people you want – famous, friends, family, on vacation, before or after Christmas Make your story concise – remember your audience – elementary kids 2. WRITE dark, large enough to read easily, and neat and legible. 3. You will write the story first and I’ll correct any errors before you write it in the book form 4. Be sure you are spelling the words correctly. Check and/or ask.

3 The Snowman Who Wanted to be Santa
Needs a Title of your story The Snowman Who Wanted to be Santa Cover art that goes with your story All pictures can be hand drawn or cut from magazines or the internet. You have to provide the pictures and bring them to class. Your Name and Section Mrs. Carpenter

4 There was once a snowman in Chile who wanted to be Santa Claus.
So Snowy made a plan and did some investigating at the North Pole. Sample pages Each page has to have at least one in on at make and do on it. Minimum 8 pages total. He found out on which nights Santa went bowling and at which lanes in town so he could be there waiting. He spent all winter in a bad mood, especially in December when he’d see Santa go by in the air on Christmas night in his sleigh at midnight. It made him mad and he needed to do something to get rid of Santa.

After the break, you will read your story to a group of elementary students and they will grade you on the following Inflection/Voice (put enthusiasm, read the story with interest and feeling Volume (the right volume, not too loud or too soft Pace (not too fast or too slow) Pronunciation (said the words correctly) Smooth (the read fluidly, not start/stop, start/stop, don’t know a word, can’t read their writing, etc.) They will also grade you on the quality of your story, character development, and interest level.
