Median age was 15 (second youngest in the world) 2010 IMR was halved to 63.7/ 1000 Life expectancy was 53 (UK; 79) HIV and Aids awareness programme (First in Africa 24% of Families are undernourished 64% have access to fresh water Education Primary education is free Few secondary school = you have to pay Few girls receive secondary education (££) 17% of girls attend secondary schools Girls can marry as young as 13 (fertility rate of 6.7) Maternal mortality rate is high Debt 2000 and 2005 debt cancelling 70% increase in healthcare 2.2 million now have access to clean water Before debt relief there were 20% fewer girls in school Key word definitions
