8. Course Structure  Year One – Mon – Wednesday teaching from January Placement (30 days) – Thurs & Fri.  Year Two – 2 days teaching from November Placement (80 days) -Mon, Tues, & Wednesdays  Year three – One day teaching – from Nov. Placement (90 days), Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs.

9. Structure Year One – foundation year – core module Underpinning the knowledge required, eg Social Policy, Law, Contemporary Social Work Practice, Human Growth & Dev. Social & Cultural Diversity & Empowerment, Study Skills Year Two – skills based modules, eg counselling, group work, or working with children

10. Structure con’td SW in the Community, Practice Research, Law & SCD&E Year 3 – ‘client-based’ modules, SW Theory, Values & Ethics, Dissertation Reflective Journal runs throughout the degree – integrating theory & practice

11. Aim of the Programme To develop clear links between theory & practice To enable students to prepare & reflect on their practice Register with GSCC as professionally qualified social workers
