13 Create 5 new approaches:
Use the same object or same theme of objects. (i.e. different shoes) How can you create a mini concentration? How can they match and be unified? How can you show your artistic ability and skills? How can you experiment and be creative to create a unique approach? 12 artworks are due next Monday. Nov 21. This packet is due Monday in the beginning of class. 5 artworks next week or you’ll be finishing for homework this weekend and next. Should have 6 by this Monday. Printing plate can be one.

19 What is creativity? Objective: You will view the criteria in order to assess how you will interpret creativity and requirements to make 12 artworks for the mini concentration. DRILL: 12 artworks are due on Monday, November 21. Today you should ideally be on Approach #8. How can creativity be judged? 5 minute lesson. Assignment grading will be viewed and we will get you geared to get some creative approaches in mind.

20 Creativity Number of responses- did you do all 12?
Differentiation from the norm or average answers. Unique individual response Risk-taking- something new- outside your comfort zone. Take a chance. Elaboration- detail and time spent on it. Experimentation-layering supplies and combining them. Mixed media

21 How is this a different approach?

22 Stylize the objects. Add designs Thick and thin lines. Black and white

23 Same as slide before Different use of color and stylization

24 How was this done? How could you translate this to your object?

25 Warm colors with black Add patterns and designs Linoleum (Stay after school)

26 Painting or chalk on collage background

27 Collage background with white paint or white out pen on top
White oil pastel with water color over it.

28 Skull In graphite (pencil) On brown paper Black drawings on top

29 Antique background Rubbing Simplified objects

30 Cubist Simplified shapes Cut out shapes Glue them on Add repeated lines.

31 How is this creative? Artist: Sagaki Keita

32 Mosaic Monochromatic color scheme Add other objects.

33 Draw it on top of writing. Paint it. Cut it up into pieces.

34 Think about unique ways to solve this problem:
You will need to spend time on this at home to finish all 12. Stay after Tues-Fri for more time. Use the internet for ideas. Think smaller to get them finished. Check your name off on sheet for how many you’ve completed so far.

35 Grade for assignment 12 artworks made is a separate 50 pt grade. 4 pts each artwork that is “complete”. Then each artwork is 30 pts each. Includes the object Composition is balanced and interesting Detail/ effort. use of supplies Creativity – risk taking – differentiation from the norm Overall Unity is 20 pts. How do they match? You will receive a 0 for any artworks less than 12.

36 Get started right away. 12 approaches due Monday.

37 Try some of these ideas:
Objective: You will view the criteria in order to assess how you will interpret creativity and requirements to make 12 artworks for the mini concentration. DRILL: Get started right away approaches due Monday. Try some of these ideas: Make artwork, then cut it up. Repeat object and overlap. Use only vertical and horizontal lines. Make art with one word or one letter only. Oil pastel under watercolor with colored pencil on top. Collage with transfer with new Art 1 techniques. Stylize. Simplify, then add patterns and designs.

38 Take 12- Approaching Creativity Critique
Objective: You will analyze your work and classmates’ pieces in order to evaluate what you learned and your creative potential. DRILL: Take out all of your artworks (all 12) that you made with same object. If you paid a lab fee. You will get a portfolio. Lay the portfolio out and open. Place all artworks out on it. Use the blue scrap paper to number your pieces. Cut out numbers and place next to each artwork. Prepare your sketchbook page to critique your artwork and if you prefer- for others to write their comments in there as well.
