2 Causes of Anti-Apartheid Diamonds were found Boer War set the cogs in motion for the Apartheid. The first segregation laws were issued in 1948 True Apartheid started in 60’s Blacks could only get certain jobs Blacks and colored had to carry books with all personal information In 1951 the Bantu Authorities Act redistributed natives

4 Effects of the Anti- Apartheid Movement Nelson Mandela is released. Segregation becomes illegal Blacks gain liberties and rights However prejudice lingers, and wealth is distributed unequally

5 MLK becomes a national hero Segregation becomes illegal Blacks receive equal rights The U.S. elects a black president Effects of the Civil Rights Movement
