(4) What three adjectives would you associated with a wedding cake (nothing related to emotions/feelings) (5) What does it mean to scorn someone because they represent everything you hate, but yet you forgive them?

"Unprosperous" --> What does the unprosperous area represent when compared to the Eggs? Page 25: "Sumptuous and romantic apartments were concealed..." --> What does this say about Nick? Page 25: He was a blond..." --> How does Nick's description of George build on the theme of ghostliness in the Valley of Ashes? Page 25: "Then I heard footsteps.." --> Compare the description of Myrtle with that of the other women. Compare it with the Valley of Ashes. Page 26: "A gray, scrawny..." --> What does the description of the child suggest about the American Dream and how? Page 27: What does the description of the puppies suggest about the city? Page 28: "Well, I'd like to but---" --> Why does Nick not finish his sentence? What does this do to Nick's ethos as narrator?
