2 T YPES OF R EPORTABLE I NFORMATION : Incidents where there is abuse: Psychological Abuse, Physical Abuse, Verbal Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Neglect, and Hate Crimes are all reportable information.

3 P SYCHOLOGICAL & V ERBAL A BUSE : Also known as mental abuse or emotional abuse. occurs when one person controls information available to another person so as to manipulate that person's sense of reality. Verbal abuse often involves 'putdowns' and name- calling intended to make the victim feel they are not worthy of love or respect

4 P HYSICAL & S EXUAL A BUSE : When one person uses physical pain or threat of physical force to intimidate another person. Any sort of unwanted sexual contact perpetrated on a victim by an abuser.

5 N EGLECT & H ATE C RIMES when a person fails to provide for the basic needs of one or more dependent victims he or she is responsible for type of abuse that involve verbal, physical, emotional, or sexual abuse toward an individual or a group

6 H OW TO SPOT IT : There are many ways, some are more difficult to find than others. Bruises, cuts, and broken bones are some Change in attitude, depression, anger Underfed and dirty Accidental Bruising spots Non-accidental Bruising Spots

7 H OW TO HELP If you see someone who may be suffering from abuse, talk to a trusted adult. If the situation reoccurs call the police and make a “secret suggestion” about the person being abused.
