Criteria: P6 produce a personal career development plan. [CT, RL, SM] What type of information do I require? Task 5 For P6, you have to produce a career development plan for a chosen career. You must select an appropriate career or job, investigate what skills, knowledge and qualifications will be required and produce a plan, including time deadlines of how you can achieve your goal. For example, if you select a job as a games developer, you need to research the qualifications and the experience required. You need to identify what professional qualifications are required, what colleges run relevant courses and how long this will take. You also need to research opportunities for work-experience. This should be linked to P4 & P5. A checklist on the next slide should help! Use Pages 120-127 to help cover general write up & notes in the U:drive - See PowerPoint on P6 This provides evidence for P6 Evidence you must produce: A personal career development plan.

In particular you should cover: Types of employment: e.g. full-time, part-time, permanent, temporary, seasonal, paid, voluntary Sources of information and advice: sources e.g. advertisements, word of mouth, employment/government agencies; advice e.g. government agencies, careers advisers, tutors, existing and previous employers, careers fairs, friends and family Career development: in the workplace e.g. induction, training needs, development plans, performance targets, certificated training, un-certificated training, personal development, flexible working, progression opportunities; in education e.g. qualifications needed for course entry, length of courses, practical experience entry requirements, progression from education courses to professional training
