2 2 Scholarships!!!Scholarships!!! $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ Scholarships are FREE money that can help you to pay for your college expenses including tuition fees, room and board, book, supplies and other required materials. Who should apply? Scholarships are out there for every type of person. No matter your GPA, talent or interest, someone is likely to have a scholarship for it. 3 3 Types of Scholarships $ 1Merit - often these require a certain GPA to be eligible. The student may need to meet other requirements such as leadership ability or community service. 1Financial need – in order to qualify you must earn below a certain amount each year. 2Ethnicity – different minority organizations, such as the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) or the Hispanic College Fund. 3Military – there are many scholarships available to members or veterans of the armed forces, and their families. 4Major – many companies or associations give out scholarships to people who declare a particular major, such as nursing or engineering. 1Merit - often these require a certain GPA to be eligible.
