3 Consortium of Adventist Distance Education—CADE 0 Protocol to add any full time grades 5-12 via distance education 0 Approval to enter portal by NAD/TDEC – application via website 0 Go through NAD approved vendors on portal

4 CADE Application Process 1. School admin files application/local board/conference K-12 – signed by local board and conference K-12 a. send application to NAD/TDEC on or before July 1 one year before opening b. if approved (response within 30 days) c. Griggs University & International Academy 2. Local school board—if approved then step 3 3. Conference K-12—if approved then step 4 4. UBOE –works with Griggs to approve 5. UBOE –fall meeting—annual approval 6. UDOEC, as enabled by NAD K-12 meeting in December 7. NADOE final approval 0 Union Office would carry-out the follow through, for example, with junior academies 0 Current sites would be grandfathered in

7 ADE Vetting Process 0 Any class from an approved vendor is automatically approved 0 Teachers who want to teach/create a DE class outside of a particular school must be affiliated with a school already inside the portal 0 Any courses taught (site to site) within a conference through DE must be evaluated using the online rubric with a report of the program made to the local union office of education. 0 Once courses leave the conference they must get NAD approval through the vendor vetting process 0 For the addition of any full DE grades 5-12, application must be made using the same template used for senior academy status
