8 8 Transfer Applicant Checklist Application Writing sample Official transcript(s) from every institution attended Official high school transcript if you have less than 24 transferable hours*, or if you graduated from high school within the past five years (Federal requirement) Letter of recommendation Transfer Addendum (sent to you upon receipt of application) Non-refundable application fee of $40 (waived prior to February 1) Applicants who wish to be considered for spring enrollment must have all required documents (listed above) received in the Office of Admissions by January 5, 2015 by close of business. *If a transfer applicant has fewer than 15 transferable hours, in addition to the high school transcript, the applicant must submit official SAT or ACT test scores.

11 Financial Aid Financial aid: Funds provided to students and families to help cover the costs of postsecondary educational expenses. Forms of Financial Aid: Scholarships(TLU, External) Grants (TLU, Federal, State) Loans (Federal, State, Private) Employment (Work-Study, On-Campus)

12 Freshman Academic Scholarships Based on high school academic performance and SAT/ACT scores. Scholarships are renewable for up to an additional three years provided you maintain a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA at TLU. These scholarships are awarded based on full time undergraduate enrollment.

14 Academic Distinction Scholarship $11,000 per year Academic Honor Scholarship $10,000 per year Transfer Scholar Scholarship $9,000 per year Transfer Achievement Scholarship $7,000 per year Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship - $3,000 per year You must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa at a community college to receive this scholarship. Qualifying students will receive this award in addition to any TLU academic scholarship. Renewal of transfer academic scholarships is based on continued full-time enrollment and the cumulative 2.50 GPA earned at TLU, the number of transfer hours accepted and the number of hours required for the degree. For example: Transfer Hours Accepted Total Semesters of Award 0-158 16-307 31-456 46-605 61-754 76-903 91+2 TRANSFER ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS Based on cumulative GPA from all institutions attended Only available to students admitted as transfers and are based on full time undergraduate enrollment Students with dual credit hours who are classified as freshmen will not be eligible for these scholarships

15 Lutheran Advantage Scholarship ($1,000) Renewable for up to four additional years provided the student maintains a cumulative 2.0 GPA at TLU. Renewal criteria will carry over to the student's academic scholarship as well and replace the standard renewal criteria of three additional years and maintaining a 2.5 GPA. Legacy Award ($1,000 per year) is awarded to full-time students who are dependents of a TLU alumnus/a. Lutheran Clergy Grant ($1,000 per year) is awarded to full-time students who are dependent children of ordained pastors of the Lutheran Church (ELCA, LCMS, WELS, or other) and to the dependent children of others serving on one of the official rosters of the ELCA (AIMS, deaconesses, and diaconal ministers).
