1 The Worshipful Company of International Bankers Masters Programme Awards Scheme With Henley Business School

2 Masters Programme Company Prize The WCIB places a high value on alumni relationships with postgraduate finance facilities. The relationships offer a gateway into the WCIB and the City for faculty and student. In turn the WCIB supports postgraduate institutions with a number of potential services. For example, the WCIB has provided City mentors for students, speakers for classes/events/career sessions, occasional event sponsorship and general support to institutions. The relationship with the institution is centred around an annual company prize of £300 awarded to a student for achievement as assessed by faculty. Typically the prize is for best overall student, project/piece of work or work on the international aspects of finance. The WCIB is pleased to support the ICMA Centre, Henley Business School in offering a prize for the top performing full time MSc student completing the Part 2 Module ‘Research Project’.

3 In 1999, the Court of Common Council voted to extend the Freedom of the City to all, regardless of nationality and the way became clear to instigate an international banking and financial services guild. The Guild of International Bankers was founded in July 2001. On the 21 September 2004, the Guild was constituted a full Livery Company (106th) and the Company successfully Petitioned for Royal Charter which was granted on the 10th December 2007. The Company currently has over 500 members, drawn from over 250 companies or institutions and with 43 nationalities represented. Many are senior bankers but, recognising the diversity of the City and with a view to ensuring long-term continuity, membership extends throughout the professional ranks of the City and includes a number of finance students. The central purposes of the Company emulate the evolution of the original purposes of the Livery Companies and Guilds namely: Fellowship. The Company will provide a forum for like-minded professionals and act as a spiritual home for its members and be a focal point for participation in the City’s ancient traditions. Charity. The Company raises considerable funds for charitable works including the Lord Mayor of London’s appeal and schemes that benefit young people in the immediate area of the City and other historic charitable works of the City of London Liveries and Guilds. Education. The Company maintains strong links with a number of finance- orientated faculties. It is also continuing to foster relationships with other faculties such as the City of London School’s for Boys and Girls to sponsor scholarships. Promotion of the Profession. Membership is open to all financial services professionals working within the City of London and overseas membership is available for the international financial community. Background to the WCIB
