5. Research Grants  Provides multi-year grants for high-impact, original HR research  $750,000 funded in 2008  $2.3 million funded since 1996  Relevant, actionable insights for HR practitioners SHRM Foundation is leading funder of HR research.

6. Connecting Research to HR Practice “Why does research matter?” Research shows what works, and builds HR’s credibility. Research grants result in: –Publication in journals, magazines and textbooks –Presentations at conferences –Certification exam questions  Ultimately, research advances the knowledge base of the HR profession!

7. Scholarships and Awards  Scholarships for Working Professionals (formerly known as “Regional Scholarship Program”) –$100,000 available ($20,000 per region) –Underwritten by J. J.
