2 What is Scouting? The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law

6 A Family Program Family involvement is key For Tigers – an adult partner is required at all events You are Akela and can sign off on completed achievements Families are welcome at nearly all scouting events Family camp in October

7 Safety Is Paramount Trained Adult Leaders Two Deep Leadership No one-on-one adult contact with a scout Background checks on all adult leaders

8 Youth Focused Program “Scouting Is A Game With A Purpose” It’s about Fun It’s about Values It’s about Learning It’s our responsibility to put on such a program

14 Additional Requirement We are asking all new parents to take the on-line BSA Youth Protection Training. Takes about 10-15 minutes Go to http://www.myscouting.orghttp://www.myscouting.org Create an account Click E-Learning and take the Youth Protection Training We are encouraging all new parents to take Fast Start training for Den Leaders to get a better understanding of the program (30 minutes)
