2 About FERPA and DIASA You have the highest level of access to district data. Do not disclose student-level data to people who should not have access to such data. If you need to use student-level data for training purposes, there is sample district data available. The sample database can be accessed at: ◦ Username: D99 ◦ Password: emetric When in doubt, use the sample database.

3 New to DIASA: Numbered Accommodations EED now collects data on the specific accommodations used on the day of testing DIASA, as part of the roster report, now allows districts to review the performance of students with specific accommodations

4 Finding Accommodations Data Step 1 – Selecting the right report From the main menu, select Roster Report, a year, a grade, and a school.

5 Finding Accommodations Data Step 2 – Filtering for the Population Once the roster report appears, select the desired population filter

6 Finding Accommodations Data Step 3 – Selecting the desired data Choose the Scores tab to limit the data to a certain subject area

7 Finding Accommodations Data Step 4 – Selecting the accommodation

8 Finding Accommodations Data Step 5 – Descending sort Click on the field and sort in descending order The sort will be displayed onscreen and all students with this accommodation will appear at the top

9 Finding Accommodations Data Alternate – View all accommodations Selecting all accommodations will allow a review of every accommodation each student used.

10 LEP Accommodations (SY2011) Timing: 1 Flexible schedule over several days 2 Other Setting: 3 Individual administration 4 Administration by ESL or native language teacher 5 Small group administration Response – Test Questions & Responses: 6 Read aloud questions in English (not used in Reading) 7 Use of word translation finder style dictionary or word-to-word dictionary 8 Provide native language word for unknown word Presentation – Test Directions 9 Student asks for clarification of directions 10 Clarify directions in native language 11 Read directions in native language 12 Written directions in English or native language 13 Writing helpful verbs in English or native language 14 Ask student questions about directions to check understanding 15 Clarifying directions by student restating 16 Other

11 LEP Accommodations (SY2012) 1 Flexible schedule over several days 2 Other (all subheadings) 3 Individual administration 5 Small group administration 6 Read aloud test items in English (not used in Reading) 7 Provide commercial word-to-word bilingual dictionary (no pictures or definitions allowed; electronic devices are not acceptable) 8 Provide native language word for unknown word (not used in Reading) 17 Allow student to respond orally to constructed response items in English (not used in Writing) 18 Provide test contractor audio version (not used in Reading; grade ten only)
