Founded in 1901, and is the second national university established in the country in Qing Dynasty. Located in Jinan, the capital city of Shandong Province, and covering an area of 3.849 square kilometers. Composed of 31 schools and 1 graduate school. 8. SDUW is located in Weihai, one of the most comfortable cities in China. SDUW backs on Majia Hill to the north and is surrounded by sea on its east and west sides, covering an area of over 400 acres.

9. Up to May, 2007, the Chinese student population on campus has reached 150,000, including international students. The number of faculty has reached 1200. In addition, there are another 100 foreign teachers and visiting professors working at SDUW.
