Use clean language. Respect others. Abstain from alcoholic beverages, tobacco, tea, coffee, and substance abuse. Participate regularly in church services. Observe dress and grooming standards. Encourage others in their commitment to comply with the Honor Code. DRESS CODE: Men: A clean and well-cared-for appearance should be maintained. Hairstyles should be clean and neat, avoiding extreme styles or colors and trimmed above the collar leaving the ear uncovered. Sideburns should not extend below the earlobe or onto the cheek. If worn, mustaches should be neatly trimmed and may not extend beyond or below the corners of the mouth. Men are expected to be clean shaven; beards are not acceptable. Earrings and other body piercing are not acceptable. Shoes should be worn in all public campus areas. Women: A clean and well-cared-for appearance should be maintained. The admission deadlines are August 1 for fall semester and December 1 for spring semester. To submit the online application and pay the application fee, visit uvu.edu/admissions. Students with an admission index of 90 or higher will be admitted to Southern Utah University. To ensure student success, students whose English ACT score is less than 17 will be required to take ENGL 1000 with ENGL 1010. Students whose Mathematics ACT score is less than 18 will be required to take the math placement test at entrance and the appropriate math course based on the test results. These courses must be completed within the first three semesters of attendance. Students with an admission index below 90 are encouraged to contact the Admissions Office concerning their opportunity for admission into SUU.
