1. Comenius meeting n° 4. October 22nd -27th -2007 This Summary is about all the activities carried out for the project: “Do you play with me”, as requested by the project leader. All the partners arrived in Katowice on October 22nd and the meeting started in Chopin Primary School the morning after. The Italian Team was composed by two teachers and four children. The meeting aim was to share teaching tecniques (games, songs, videos) and to compare several teaching approach in different school system. So, teams involved in project showed activities and experiences they use to do in their classes, during the regular lessons in Katowice School. PRIMO CIRCOLO OLBIA

2. Teachers’ commentary: Angela Sau- Nicola Amatori. Our experience was very interesting and full of new inputs for our teaching approach as well for our personal growth. We had the opportunity to know different schools system and to compare them; we realize that the Polish one gives priority to physical education, to dialogue in problem solving and to accurated organization plans.

3. We talked about children with learning or physical problems, but with different abilities that need to be developed: what chances and financials aids each government gives to school for trained teachers. We also focused on how much useful could be shift teaching approaches and working with experimentation in teaching methodology. The Polish school structures and equipment available helped us to practise what we were discussing.

4. Sardinian Children, after a first moment of understandable shyness and uncomfortableness, really enjoyed their experiences.

5. Gabriele (male -10 years old - Rudalza Primary School) I left from Olbia very excited and, after a long journey (long because there was a strike in the Italian Airport), I got to Katowice. The host family came to pick me up at the airport, and they always were nice to me for the entire time I spent with them.

6. On Monday I went to Chopin Primary School and I was really impressed because the place is amazing: beautiful school, very neat courtyards, a rich library, two gyms, and a heated swimming pool. I liked the lessons plan and all the activities I saw and I did with Polish Children.

7. With my new friends I went on three school trips: sightseeing of Cracow (I visited the Dragon castle and I already knew the legend about it, because in Italy we have a Polish language assistant that told us the story before I left). I visited a salt mine and a coal mine in the city of Zabrze.

8. I enjoyed every moment of this week : the way they work at school (different room for each subject), the landscape, so different from Sardinia, the kindness of the people I met, the depths of salt and coal mine, the huge main square of Cracow, the food and, above all, the kindness of the people I met.

9. Giada (female -10 years old –Via Nanni primary school) The trip in Poland has been a beautiful experience and my host family was very kind to me. I left from Olbia very early in the morning and I was frightened but excited about this journey. I will never forget this beautiful experience.

10. Gaia (female -10 years old –Via Nanni primary school) The family of Giulia was very nice to me: they gave me a lot of beautiful presents! The father of Polish family didn’t speak English, so he used to communicate through Julia or his wife, Eugenia. After school, Julia and I used to go to her grandmother house.

11. The place I like very much is Cracow, in this city there is the river Vistula, a big cathedral, the monument of a Dragon (about him I have already heard the legend at school ) and a beautiful salt mine

12. Barbara (female -10 years old –San Simplicio primary school) For me it was the first time travelling by airplane so the pilot gave me a special certificate of “first flight”. We spent almost the whole day in Bergamo airport because of a strike. We got to Katowice late at night and the host family came to pick us up.

13. I am glad that my school in Italy gave me the opportunity of this week in Poland. The day I liked more was Wednesday when we went on a school trip to Cracow. I liked the church and the little shops in the main square and I bought a lot of souvenirs for my relatives and friends.
