Preventative Safety Equipment Helps to prevent accidents from happening in the science lab Give me examples of Preventative Safety Equipment.

Safety Goggles Goggles are used to protect your eyes from chemicals and foreign objects.

Apron An apron is used for protecting clothing from stains, chemicals, and other contaminants.

Gloves Gloves are used to protect hands from stains, chemicals, and other contaminants.

Emergency Safety Equipment Used to minimize the result of accidents in the lab after they occur Give me an example of an emergency that can occur in the lab and tell me what I could use if that emergency occurs.

Fire Extinguisher A fire extinguisher is used to put out fires P – Pull A – Aim S – Squeeze S – Sweep

Eyewash Station An eyewash station is used for flushing chemicals from the eyes. Eyes must be washed for 15 – 20 MINUTES.

Fire Blanket A fire blanket is used for putting out small fires or fires on a person.
