1. PAPER TOWEL TESTING

2. Purpose of Testing To find out what brand of paper towels is best
To conduct a scientifically fair test
To figure out what brand to use for the school year
To prove or disprove our hypothesis of paper towel brand Kroger Home Sense being the most absorbent and strongest.

3. Procedure for Absorbency
Gather materials: 5 paper towel brands, timer, at least 450 mL water, graduated cylinder, tracking sheet, calculator, ruler, scissors
Measure and cut paper towels into 3×3 inch squares
Pour 40 mL of water into graduated cylinder
Fold paper towels into quarters and drop into cylinder
Measure how much water is still in cylinder after 15 seconds, allowing a few seconds extra.

5. Procedure for Wet Strength
Gather materials (Rubber Bands, Water, Yogurt Container, Graduated Cylinder, Scale, Metal Washers)
Put paper towel on yogurt container and secure with two rubber bands
Pour 20 mL on to paper towel and stack on metal washers
When paper towel breaks, weigh washers
Repeat steps 2-4 three times per brand

8. Conclusion
Kroger Home Sense paper towels got first place in all of our tests and proved to be better than any other brand in absorbency and wet strength.
