Lean Six Sigma – Deployment Trends Net LSS Gains (Business Benefits) 1 2 3 4 Years TRANSFORMATION POINT Lean Six Sigma loses momentum, begins to decline At the transformation point: Obvious improvement (“low-hanging fruit”) projects mostly completed Project become more complex and involve more cross-functional activities The company or organization must reassess the deployment and project strategy. Succession planning for existing black belts/project leaders must be in place. Lean Six Sigma becomes “the way we work”

Lean Six Sigma – Business Trends Companies are increasing their reliance on Lean tools and techniques to detect and eliminate waste WASTE = COST = OPPORTUNITIES More emphasis on supply chain improvements SUPPLIERS – PROCESS – CUSTOMERS Trend towards shorter, specific projects focused on the organization’s “pain points” Project activity and success tied directly to organizational success metrics (i.e., time-to-market, quality leader, supply chain improvements, etc.) LSS applied to all aspect of the business, including R&D (Design for Six Sigma), new product/process/service development, sales and marketing, HR, legal, etc.
