11 Fairs with 1, 2 or 3 projects may bring individual or team Finalists representing the projects committed, up to 3 student observers and a maximum of 6 remaining official party. (A fair must minimally have 1 Adult-in-Charge to chaperone the Finalists.) Fairs pay a fee to affiliate with the Intel ISEF. The base fee is $600 for fairs that are allotted one to two projects. Fairs with more than two projects will pay an additional $100 per project. As stated above, fairs do not have to send their allotted number of projects to the Intel ISEF and may instead commit to sending fewer. This helps save on the registration fee and travel costs for the finalists and may help reduce the affiliation fee as well. The NWARSEF territory consists of 14 counties: Baxter, Benton, Boone, Carroll, Crawford, Faulkner, Franklin, Johnson, Logan, Madison, Marion, Newton, Searcy, Sebastian, and Washington An affiliate fair must serve a minimum of 50 students in grades 9 through 12 or have at least five high schools participating in its fair. The fair must serve a geographic territory that is not covered by another affiliate fair, except in cases of state or national fairs. The fair must operate under the Intel ISEF Rules and Guidelines and ensure that students and teachers are aware of these requirements as they begin research projects. The Fair Director agrees to hold the Affiliated Fair by the given deadline in early April.
