4 The Mission of NPSD: NP students will: Become independent, adaptable, life-long learners who transfer understanding to new applications; Exhibit creative and critical thinking; Achieve at the proficient or greater level in all academic areas; Adapt to a changing technological world; and Transition from competent student to productive, responsible citizen of the global society.

5 CIVICS This is why you must take and pass a course on American Government in your senior year in order to graduate. Step 1 – You are to brainstorm possible answers the following: “What are your top 3 rights or freedoms as a person living in the USA?”

CIVICS is the science of citizenship – studying the relationship between citizens and their government In an autocracy or an oligarchy, the citizens are subjects with little to no freedom or choice. In a democracy, the people hold power and the government exists to protect them.

You do it once and never have to do it again unless one of the following happens: You change your address You change your name You change your political party
